Ingredients:

     1 kg of fresh beef
     1 ounce fresh red chilli
     14 spring onions
     7 cloves of garlic
     3 cm ginger
     5 pieces of hazelnut
     1 stalk lemongrass
     3 cm laos
     12 cups coconut milk
     2 tamarind seeds kandis
     1 turmeric leaf sheet
     2 tsp salt
     3 kaffir lime leaves
Directions:
Step 1
  • Cut the beef into pieces and wash clean. Set aside.
Step 2
  • Puree red peppers, red onions, garlic, nutmeg and ginger until well blended.
Step 3
  • Crushed lemongrass and galangal.
Step 4
  • Boil the coconut milk with the spice paste in a container pot, add the galangal, lemongrass, kandis acid, turmeric leaf, kaffir lime leaves and salt
Step 5
  • Mix well and thickens.
Step 6
  • If stew seasoning oil had started out, input cuts of beef. 
Step 7
  • Stir over medium heat until cooked.
Step 8
  • If you want to blackened seasoning rendang, simply reduce the heat and cook until the oily (black) with occasional stirring so as not lengkat and cooked through.
Step 9
  • Serve in a serving bowl.

Ingredients:

3 spring onions
2 cloves of garlic
10 large pieces of cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar

2 tablespoons hot oil

Directions:

Step 1
  • Prepare mortar
Step 2
  • Add 3 spring onions, 2 cloves of garlic, 10 large pieces of cayenne pepper, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon sugar
Step 3
  • Mash all the ingredients, but do not get too smooth
Step 4
  • Add hot oil
  • Stir until smooth
